Plague Knight
Plague Knight is a one of a kind mini collection of sterling silver pendants inspired by the medieval grotesque.
Dogs were everywhere in the medieval world: in manuscripts, tomb carvings, royal hunts, folklore, and devotional imagery. They symbolized loyalty, vigilance, companionship, and protection.
Release the Hounds draws from these historical symbols to create a series of modern guardian pieces inspired by heraldic hounds. Cast in solid 14k gold and sterling silver and made in Portland, Oregon.
In medieval manuscripts, dogs appeared constantly beside their masters as symbols of loyalty, vigilance, and protection. Hunting hounds guarded travelers and accompanied noble hunts, while smaller companion dogs rested at the feet of women and saints as emblems of devotion and fidelity. Across tomb sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, and bestiaries, the hound became a lasting symbol of steadfast companionship, even beyond death itself.
